Director John Woo led his star-studded crew from “The Battle of Red Cliff” to meet with the media for the first time on Thursday.
Most members from the film’s star-heavy cast, including Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Chang Chen, Chiling Lin, and Zhao Wei, showed up at the press conference in Beijing to talk about their characters in the film.
The historical epic film keeps making headlines as filming encounters its own twists and turns.
At first, Cannes-winning actor Tony Leung announced his quitting before shooting had started in mid April, but later he returned to take on the role dropped by another Hong Kong big name, Chow Yun-Fat.
Chow Yun-Fat was reported to have left the cast just one day after shooting had begun, citing what reports describe as “various reasons.”
Besides its star-studded cast, the production team, led by John Woo and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” art director Timmy Yip, are also keeping movie-goers tantalized. [Cri]

Why is there a pic of a two-faced piggy here instead of China’s most successful woman as voted by 0.0000002% of the country’s population. Weird.
Zhang Ziyi has been crowned China’s most successful woman, after 31,439 netizens voted for her in a national poll conducted by Sohu.com and fashion magazine “Bazaar”.
The voters say they voted for Zhang because of her successful acting career and growing reputation in the international film industry. They praised her for being smart, confident, independent and ambitious.
Actress Zhao Wei ran second in the poll. Most netizens think she transformed herself into a mature, intellectual modern woman after she returned to film school in 2006.

Super girl Li Yuchun weighed in as China’s third most successful woman. Pop queen Faye Wong, hostess Yang Lan, model Lv Yan and actresses Maggie Cheung, Gong Li, Zhang Jingchu and Sun Li also ranked in the top 10. [CCTV]

Can you find Zhao Wei? She’s the one with black hair.

A photo of Waldo before he got lost in China.
Chinese entertainer Zhao Wei spent time in Hefei, capital East China’s Anhui Province the other day for a promotional event. As seen here, she decided to play a game of “Where’s Waldo” with the thousands at hand who came out to see her. For those of you who recall, the popular book series asked readers to find the striped, bespeckled traveler in a mish mash of pictures full of people and objects.
So, can you spot Zhao Wei in the crowd? (For a hint, click on “Read the article”)
