Chinese actress and singer Huang Shengyi posed for this magazine shoot recently. Just so you know, Shengyi is the Shanghai-born actress who starred in Steven Chow’s comedy Kung Fu Hustle.
She is expected to return for the sequel but after working outside of her contract with Stephen Chow’s Star Overseas Company, including her controversial and revealing spread for FHM Magazine China, it is uncertain whether or not she will return. She has since asked to be released from her contract, asking for it to be annulled.

CriEnglish is reporting that Edison Chen announced his intention to marry girlfriend, Vincy Yeung, neice of EEG Group’s CEO, Albert Yeung, when he earns $150 million. I’m not sure how valid this is as he made this pronouncement at a party. Apparently the website thinks that Edison’s latest collaboration effort with comedian/ actor Stephen Chow is proof of a future marriage. The two actors have been reported to be in talks to film a big budgeted dance feature, with Edison likely to take the lead role.
It’s a poorly worded and confusing article but it’s no secret that Edison is seemingly quite serious with his latest belle. Between managing his clothing/ design company, making films and music albums and engaging in random publicity events, marriage would seem an unlikely step at this stage of his career. That said, we’ll have to see if his intentions as reported by this website are true.
Stay tuned…

Who is likely to be named the richest actor in Hong Kong? While stars Jackie Chan Kong-sang and Chow Yun-fat come to mind for their multimillion dollar movie deals, for Stephen Chow, also known as Stephen Chiau Sing-chi, it has taken more than moviemaking to make it to the top.
Arguably the most successful comedian in Hong Kong movie history, Chow is reported to hold a property portfolio valued at more than HK$1.5 billion.
These include No10 Pollock’s Path, The Peak, which Chow bought in 2004 for HK$320 million and a redeveloped shopping mall in Tsim Sha Tsui with an estimated market value of HK$310 million. [The Standard]

No, it’s not the release date for ‘Curse of the Golden Flower’. It’s more likely the night this movie will be going home with Oscar for Best Foreign Film. Epic, Shakespearean undertones, China, Gong Li, Chow Yun Fat, Zhang Yimou, visually spectacular… it’s got all the elements. Check out the final trailers on Sony Pictures Classics:

Also looking forward to a slate of other great films including ‘Confessions of Pain’ with Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro, ‘Protege’ with Andy Lau, Ang Lee’s ‘Lust, Caution’, and Stephen Chow’s ‘Long River 7′… can’t wait!!!
