Shu Qi - Brown Blue Eyed Girl

Shu Qi, Maggie Cheung, Michelle Yeoh, and Bai Ling are making the rounds and really putting in their face time at Cannes. Here are some more pics of the Chinese beauties at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Benefit. Michelle is Malaysian, I know, and, yes, that’s Bai with her clothes on this time. Check out Shu Qi with the blue eyes. A bit freaky but of course DaDump is oddly turned on…. not surprising.

DaDump Who Has Nothing Dedicates This Post to Shu Qi

May 18th, 2007 by dd

Since DaDump can’t sing, I’m going to do the next best thing and serenade Shu Qi with the ballad, “I Who Have Nothing” from the future American Idol, Jordin Sparks.
So when you’re done prancing the red carpets in Cannes and downing flutes of champagne from fleeting admirers, kawl me when you’re ready to settle down and have little dumplings.

Shu Qi. Just Because…

A photo shoot of one of DaDump’s fave actresses, Shu Qi. If I had pictures of her reading a newspaper or peeling an orange I’d print those too… luckily these have a bit more creative value.

Shu Qi Needs a Date and DaDump Has the Answer

March 29th, 2007 by dd

Shu Qi reprentin’! What is that some kind of like gangstah sign?

Taiwan actress, Shu Qi, recently went on holiday to France after filming on location in a forest for a month and told Hong Kong papers that she had many men offering their phone numbers and e-mail addresses to her.

Shu Qi had told MingPao Daily: ‘I’ve replied to every single (e-mail). I did not want to miss out on any. I’m anxious to find a partner, but I’m not interested in getting married, only in dating. Marriage and dating are two different things. Dating is a lot more fun than marriage.’

But when asked about it during a recent phone conference, Shu Qi claimed that she was just joking. Then added with regards to the kind of person she’s seeking, ‘It doesn’t matter what criteria, as long as the right man comes along. He must treat me well. I leave it up to fate, when it comes, it comes.’

Then, alluding to her current dating status, Shu Qi added: ‘I’m still waiting.’ [Asia1]

Unbelievable. How does she get reduced to collecting random emails from a bunch of French guys, when the Dumpling is right here waiting. Yo, Shu Qi, drop me a line when you’re back… +852.3867.5464 (+TLC.DUMP.LING)

Confession of Pain Set to Become the Next ‘The Departed’

January 4th, 2007 by dd

confessionofpain

American film companies are negotiating the rights to remake “Confession of Pain” by Hong Kong directing duo Andrew Lau and Alan Mak, after the success of the US version of “Infernal Affairs”.

Andrew Lau revealed that several American companies have offered to buy the rights for a remake and invited him to direct their version.

The director said the offer is still under negotiation, but he won’t accept a bid under US$1.75 million, the price he charged for the “Infernal Affairs” remake.

American director Martin Scorsese received critical acclaim for his remake of “Infernal Affairs”, which was called “The Departed”. But Lau was not entirely satisfied with the script for the American adaptation, saying “It loses the spirit of my original movie.”

Lau also revealed he will direct a Hollywood action flick with an English language script and American cast in June.

A Singaporean fashion photographer’s current exhibit of 300 Asian stars has drawn protests from Hong Kong actor-singers Aaron Kwok and Andy Hui, whose managers have complained that pictures of their clients are too racy for public consumption.

Leslie Kee’s current “Super Stars” photo exhibit in Hong Kong, which is being sold as a book to raise funds for victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, includes pictures of top Asian stars including actresses Zhang Ziyi and Shu Qi, singer Faye Wong and action star Tony Jaa.

The Korean comic action film “My Wife is a Gangster 3” has garnered much attention from Asian buyers at the recently-held American Film Market. Showbox, the film’s distributor, said Tuesday that the film had been sold for a total of 660,000 dollars (620 million won) to eight Asian nations — Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. “The price is the highest ever paid for a Korean movie at the market by Asian nations except Japan,” it added.

‘Confession of Pain’ Lowdown

November 15th, 2006 by dd

confessionconfession2

The story: When his wealthy father-in-law is brutally murdered, veteran cop Hei (Tony Leung) calls upon his old pal, private detective Bong (Takeshi Kaneshiro), to help investigate the case.

Shockingly, all leads point to Hei’s wife (Xu Jinglei).

But when another murder takes place, Bong suspects that the killer is not who she or he seems to be.

The juice: Since the film was announced in July, the HK$80 million ($16m) Confession Of Pain has commanded media attention for its oh-so-gorgeous A-list cast, especially the elusive Takeshi.

Initially, talk was rife that Takeshi was given preferential treatment and paid more, which was rumoured to have upset Tony.

But all has turned out well.

The two leading men play protagonists who are scarred by painful memories - which explains the title.

Takeshi’s alcoholic character is a departure from his usual suave hero roles.

He drinks himself silly to forget the day he found his pregnant girlfriend lying dead in a pool of blood from her slashed wrists.

Tony’s character’s pain, however, is bottled up and he hides it well.
