It’s finally here. Check out the newest Amerie video, Take Control, featuring Korea’s pop sensation, Seven.
Amerie has always expressed an interest in recording with a Korean artist, the country where she was born. In fact, Amerie was such a fan of Seven that she personally chose him for the single.
Seven said, “With my American debut ahead of me, I’m so happy that I was able to work with a star like Amerie. I was given compliments on my vocals so I felt good.”
This should also help Seven gain greater exposure in the US market which he is in the process of also ‘taking control’ of.
So without further ado…

The term crossover in the music industry no longer just applies to hip hop artists teaming up with pop singers. A growing trend sees a true global crossover with US artists teaming up with Asian artists.
Earlier this year Korean singing sensation, Rain (Bi), a “star of Asia,” announced collaboration efforts with top American star Omarion, who is often dubbed “the second Usher,” to produce a joint album and act together in a film.
More recently Se7en, another Korean singer, revealed that he will sing a duet on the track TakeControl with American R&B artist, Amerie, for her new album, Because I Love It.
Amerie, who is half-Korean, had wanted to find a Korean singer as her duet partner and suggested that Se7en sing a duet with her upon seeing him perform in Asia. She attracted attention from Koreans with a tattoo of her name spelled in Korean between on the small of her back.
Another singer who is sure to capture crossover appeal includes China’s 2006 Female Idol Shang Wenjie. She will sing the French title song, A La Claire Fontaine, in The Painted Veil, a major US film starring Edward Norton and Naomi Watts.
