Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo returned to L.A. from Mexico the other night after their latest scandal; this one involving unauthorized pictures of them prancing around nekkid and reportedly doing the ‘nasty’ in a hot tub. They’ve hired a high powered lawyer to prevent media outlets from releasing the photos. Good luck with that, buddy.
Aside from the superficial and fleeting interest in any sex scandal, let alone one with people we sorta, kinda recognize, this really isn’t of huge interest. Think of it this way, can you actually name a Nick Lachey song? Aside from MTV’s TRL and her recent short stint at Entertainment Tonight before getting the boot, can anyone tell me what Vanessa has done lately aside from showing up in the tabloids?
DaDump would concoct a sex scandal too if my precious Hollywood career was in da dumps!
The biggest pop star in all of Asia — Rain — is facing a hailstorm of legal trouble in the US. A Honolulu concert promoter claims in a federal lawsuit that the so-called Korean “Justin Timberlake” defrauded them out of more than $500,000, and never had any intention of performing in the first place. And the legal mud-slinging could just be starting.
Well-placed sources tells TMZ that local promoters in Los Angeles, where Rain also canceled a concert an hour-and-a-half before the gig, are contemplating millions of dollars in legal action against the singer and his management company. “It isn’t going to be pretty,” says one source. All in all, Rain canceled two gigs and postponed three among his five US dates, citing a trademark suit in Nevada and technical glitches for the missed gigs. [TMZ]
From everyone’s friend on MySpace to the covers of Playboy, Stuff, and Time, tight bodied little attention monger, Tila Tequila Nguyen, is the feature for this month’s Penthouse magazine.
Whereas the Penthouse is usually a sign that people are moving up in the world, this is just another peg in Tila’s attempt to grace as many newstand covers as possible in skimpy clothing.
Hey, DaDump isn’t complaining. So long as she’s seen in revealing layouts and not heard singing awful singles like “I Love You” then the world equilibrium should be fine.
Hey this is for all you aspiring young artists out there. If you want a hip hit music video burning up the charts, then be sure to include anything related to Asia. Bling bling, Badonkadonk hoochies, and fast cars are so yesterday.
Get with the program and cast some Asian extras. Any will do as chances are your viewing audience won’t know the difference which ethnicity they’re from anyway. And if you have a real budget, well, heck, fly the whole crew to Tokyo or Beijing. If your low on cash then try Chinatown or Koreatown.
Take some lessons from the pros: If you’re Gwen Stefani then draw inspiration from Japanese culture and fashion by using four back-up dancers known as the Harajuku Girls in your videos and concerts. (Click here to see video).
Kanye West’s recently released single, Stronger, uses ‘it’ girl and hottie Blasian, Cassie and was originally shot for nine days in Japan. A genuine Japanese motorcycle gang was used in the video which included the BAPE store and the BBC shop as locations.
Wanna top that? Then why not rent out the entire Forbidden City in Beijing. That’s what Jared Leto and his vanity band, 30 Seconds to Mars did. In fact, they were reportedly the first American video ever to be shot entirely in the PRC. How did they show their gratitude? By donning some traditional Chinese garb and kicking some major local ass in the video - Hai yaahhh!
Finally, if you have no real storyline concept but just want to jump on the ‘Asian contagion’ bandwagon then just throw in some trendily dressed but disinterested looking Asians. Daddy Yankee opted for a big name duet singer in the form of Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas for the video Impacto. This is a half hearted effort but if you’re new at the exploitation game then, by all means, take it slow.
Good luck!: DaDump hopes this abbreviated workshop helps fulfill your Billboard dreams and gets your video on MTV’s daily rotation. If you are having trouble coming up with fresh new ways to take advantage of the exotic notion that is Asia, let me know. But please do not use Asian import models… unless you’re an up and coming hip hop act with a truly limited imagination.
DaDump lives for these moments. Not because he revels in the embarrassing mistakes of others but because traffic to the site surges from perverts all around the world seeking a cheap thrill.
Last year Yumiko Cheng suffered a wardrobe malfunction at a charity show and just recently while performing in Canada she suffered a more revealing mishap. At the NTSC Toronto show, during a singing performance, her dress slipped down to reveal some nip action.
Before you click on the video and blame me for misrepresenting the situation, be forewarned. First, this is a nip slip Asia style; not Hollywood style so instead of in-your-face full frontal, you’re going to have to look real close at your monitor.
Next keep in mind that the quality isn’t great so don’t shoot the messenger. And remember this isn’t Jessica Simpson or Pamela Anderson so this may require a little imagination and good old fashioned detective work for you to find what you’re looking for.
Finally, since this is a wholesome family site, the pics can be found after the jump.
Christina Aguilera is in China as part of her Asian Tour. In these pics, she’s holding a news conference promoting her Shanghai concert which has just finished (it’s now Tues nite in S’hai).
Beautiful voice, progressive outlook, curvaceous body but WTF is up with those eyebrows! DaDump is a huge fan of hers but is kinda freaked out with her makeup. Therefore I choose to focus on other aspects of her body…
Half brothers Julian and Sean Lennon have begun speaking to each other again.
Their reconciliation follows Julian’s eight-year feud with Sean and Sean’s mother, Yoko Ono, the widow of the men’s father, Beatle John Lennon, the New York Post reported.
The rift stemmed from comments Julian made about Yoko Ono, he told the Post. Julian’s mother is John’s first wife, Cynthia.
“I thought it time to make big changes in my own life,” Julian, 44, told the Post in what the paper said was his first interview since 1999. “Part of that has been to get Sean back into my life, because I love him so much.”
After contacting Sean’s tour manager this year, Julian surprised his half brother backstage after a show in Prague. “We just hugged and held each other,” Julian recalled.
Julian joined Sean, 31, on the tour bus, sleeping on the floor and traveling through Croatia and Slovenia, he said. [Y!]
Dirrty Girl, Christina Aguilera, shook the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium on Saturday in the South Korean capital.
The four-time Grammy-Award winner was supported by local K-pop singer Ivy.
Prior to the concert was a controversy surrounding a last-minute ticket clearance sale. Organizers of the performance initially sold A-class seats at US$95. However, beginning on June 13, an Internet shopping site began to sell pairs of A-class seats at 40-percent discounted price for both.
It is almost unprecedented in Korea to sell concert tickets of foreign popular stars at such sharply discounted prices. As a consequence, performance-goers who purchased tickets earlier became angry; some canceling their ticket purchases and buying tickets again at the discounted prices after getting a refund.
A lack of interest in the concert is not being named as the culprit; rather, it appears inflated ticket prices are to blame.
