Shu Qi, Maggie Cheung, Michelle Yeoh, and Bai Ling are making the rounds and really putting in their face time at Cannes. Here are some more pics of the Chinese beauties at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Benefit. Michelle is Malaysian, I know, and, yes, that’s Bai with her clothes on this time. Check out Shu Qi with the blue eyes. A bit freaky but of course DaDump is oddly turned on…. not surprising.

So here’s the deal. Jackie Chan is looking for the next big action star in China on his TV show, The Disciple (Think The Apprentice for movies). Thing is, Jackie doesn’t seem too impressed with what he’s seeing. His words of advice: You don’t have to crack heads in kung fu to make it big.
In fact, the drunken master himself is frustrated by the emphasis placed on kung fu skills. He said in a blog entry on his Web site that he’s looking for grace in movement, be it from sports, dance or kung fu.
Chan said a background in kung fu was not necessary to succeed as an action star, citing former Bond girl Michelle Yeoh and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” star Zhang Ziyi as examples.
Why have talent when modern movie technology can enhance the look of kung fu moves!
“In my movies, I don’t want any violent action. I’m looking for people who have beautiful and rhythmic movement so that the action can look something like dancing,” Chan said.
Chan himself was trained in Peking Opera and is known for his comical, dance-like moves and stunts.
By contrast, another action star, Jet Li, was a national kung fu champion in China before he crossed over to the film industry. [IHT]

He is keeping mum on the wedding date and preparations but Jean Todt talks straight from his heart about what attracts him to fiancée Michelle Yeoh.
“We are happy together,” said the 61-year-old Ferrari chief executive officer. “She is a very loyal, dedicated and down-to-earth person. We have a lot of common views. It is like a team effort.
“She likes the people around me, my friends and my son. It is the same for me with her family and friends. So, it is not just between her and me. It is all around us, which is very important.”
However, when pressed about whether a date had been set and what preparations were being carried out, Todt smiled and said: “We will let you know. We have very good press officers who will let you know.”

Actress Michelle Yeoh, 44, who is engaged to Ferrari motor-racing team boss Jean Todt, 61, is planning wedding banquets in Italy, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Sporting a diamond ring on her right ring finger, the former Miss Malaysia told reporters, “Actually, you have seen this ring a few times.”
She said Todt, who is French and has a Ferrari racing manager son, had popped the question and added, “The date hasn’t been set but it should be soon.”
She said she would start preparing for her nuptials after wrapping up her latest Hollywood film, Babylon A.D.
This will be her second marriage. Her first, to Hong Kong tycoon Dickson Poon, ended in divorce after three years in 1991.
It was her ex-boyfriend Thomas Chung, a Hong Kong movie producer, who introduced her to Todt in June 2004. Three months later, Todt announced that they were engaged but Yeoh denied it the next day.
Hong Kong newspaper Apple Daily said she accepted his proposal just months ago. [Sinchew]
