South Korean actor Jang Dong-gun will make his first Hollywood film alongside top Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi. The English language Laundry Warrior is being produced by Oscar winner Barrie M. Osborne, who worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The US$30 million movie, a Western fantasy, is to be joinly made by the US, South Korean and China, wiht a South Korean producer and director. Shooting is expected to bein in May.
Jang, 35, starred in the Korean gangster movie Friend in 2000 and in 2004’s Taegukgi, a blockbuster about two brothers who end up fighting on opposite sides in the 1950-53 Korean war (you MUST see this movie!!). He also appeared in Chinese director Chen Kaige’s epic The Promise.
Zhang appeared in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Memoirs of a Geisha. She recently finished shooting the crime thriller The Horsemen in Canada.

Korean pop mega-star Kwon BoA is adding a 2007 sports-themed calendar which will hit the Korean market today. The wall calendar has been selling well in Japan since its October 21st release.
Themed in seasonal sports, the calendar has seven photos of the singer enjoying horse riding, bowling, lacrosse, mountain-biking, surfing, motorcycling and snowboarding.
This will no doubt add to her earnings as Korea’s highest earning artist in 2006 who made close to US$30 million primarily with her album sales and advertisement appearances.
Coming in second was Bae Yong-joon based on income derived from entertainment.
Other top earners include Jang Dong-gun, Eric Mun, Rain and Kim Hee-seon.
