PETA has compiled an extensive list of celebrity vegetarians and wants your vote for the 2007 World’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity! Based on this list, if you’ve ever felt alone in choosing tofu over chicken — fear not! You’re in very good company.

Currently leading the vote for sexiest male is Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia and for the women, Spiderman 3’s Dallas Howard is racking up the points and pushing hard for the title.

Other celebrities in the running include Natalie Portman, Casey Affleck, Live Free or Die Harder Hottie, Maggie Q, Canto Pop King, Jackie Cheung, Barbie Xu, Joaquin Phoenix, Rubben Studdard, and 200 other leading lads and lasses.

First off, how is Maggie Q not leading the pack? Secondly, Rubben Studdard is a vegetarian? That must explain his ‘smooth as tofu’ voice.

Head on over to the voting page and pick your favorite vegetable munchers!

Ok, kind of a slow news day but gotta give props to one of the Four Heavenly Kings. Dubbed the King of Cantonese pop, Jacky Cheung announced the upcoming leg of the Year of Jacky Cheung World Tour 2007 at the Hong Kong Coliseum between August 17 and 22.

Attending a press conference at Times Square in Hong Kong, Jacky Cheung revealed that the highest price for each ticket was only 400 Hong Kong dollars.

The concert tour boasts Hong Kong’s best production team, and is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology in stage, lighting and sound effects.

Jacky is expected to appear on stage with the very most majestic of attire, and to rock the Coliseum with his collection of classic songs, making his performance the must-see concert of the year.

The concert tour kicked off in February of this year, in Las Vegas, USA.

The concert tour covers Canada, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China’s Hong Kong and Taiwan, plus 20 cities in the Chinese mainland. [Cri]

Jackie Cheung Maid Gets Jail for Stealing But Vows Cleanest Cell Among Inmates

December 13th, 2006 by dd

Preslyn-saga Catacutan (30), the Filipino maid who worked for Hong Kong pop star Jacky Cheung has been jailed for six months for stealing three photographs and a letter from her former employer. Her sentence includes two six-month terms on two theft charges, to be served concurrently. Maid organizers immediately criticized the sentence as too harsh even calling it “very cruel”.

The Ming Pao Daily News newspaper quoted Judge Winston Leung on Tuesday as saying he imposed a heavy sentence as a deterrent because he suspected Catacutan of wanting to sell the photos.

The photos reportedly included pictures of Cheung and his wife, retired actress May Lo, as well as Lo and a friend, and Lo’s passport photo.

Cheung was one of Chinese pop music’s “Four Heavenly Kings” in the 1990s, along with Aaron Kwok, Leon Lai and Andy Lau.

Nearly 233,000 foreign maids work in prosperous Hong Kong. Most are from the Philippines, with smaller numbers coming from Indonesia, Thailand and other countries. [Mainichi]
