From everyone’s friend on MySpace to the covers of Playboy, Stuff, and Time, tight bodied little attention monger, Tila Tequila Nguyen, is the feature for this month’s Penthouse magazine.
Whereas the Penthouse is usually a sign that people are moving up in the world, this is just another peg in Tila’s attempt to grace as many newstand covers as possible in skimpy clothing.
Hey, DaDump isn’t complaining. So long as she’s seen in revealing layouts and not heard singing awful singles like “I Love You” then the world equilibrium should be fine.
Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi marks the launch of her official forum with an online chat with fans.
China’s online portal Sohu, reported that Zhang Ziyi’s official forum, formally come into effect on Saturday.
The report said Sohu set up a forum on Zhang Ziyi’s official website, www.helloziyi.com, so fans could communicate with each other and leave messages for their idol.
Surprisingly, Zhang Ziyi even logged onto the forum herself on Saturday evening, posting many comments.
She called her fans “Yi’s Babies”, and answered numerous questions, such as elucidating her memorable experience in making the film “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”.

Ever have one of those days when nothing and I mean NOTHING goes right. Hot coffee spills on your pants, the dumplings you ordered for lunch arrive cold, the girl you met at the club doesn’t remember you when you call, and your 60-year old auntie and 14-year old nephew have a better dating record than you…
Well, none of that actually happened but it might as well have. So instead of scouring the ‘net for gossip to make you feel better, I decided to post some videos that will make me feel better. You don’t like it? Take a number and cry me a river.
Lucky for you, the Dumpling is a raging alcoholic too. How else would he know how best to cure your Tequila hangover from that regrettable weekend in Tijuana.
Don’t worry, DD won’t play Tila’s single “I Love U“; no, DD is much more shallow and kind hearted than that. Plus listening to her music would only exacerbate that pounding in your head. DD will show you pictures of what Tila does best, pose half naked in a skimpy outfit so that you’re numb to her yapping about her millions of MySpace friends and her other so-called talents.
Lesson learned: Much like kids, it is better for Tila to be seen rather than heard. Oh, and she needs new cyber-buddies… the 1.687 million MySpacers who didn’t buy your single aren’t really your friends!
Tila Tequila may be the most popular person ever on MySpace, but it turns out not very many of her 1.7 million friends wanted to shell out a buck for her first single, “I Love U.”
In the first week after the single’s release, only 13,000 copies of the single were sold, or less than 1 percent of her MySpace posse — and the single didn’t even make it onto the 75-deep Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart. And after a brief appearance at the bottom end of the iTunes top 100 singles chart, “I Love U” disappeared.
To be fair, Tila didn’t have the benefit of a major record label pushing her single. Then again, as she herself told everyone from the New York Times to Rolling Stone, she turned down two label deals to do it her own way — and may be paying the price. (Oh, and the fact that the song itself sucks might have a little something to do with it too).
On the bright side of things, a week after the single’s release, the video for “I Love U” — which prominently features Tila’s more salient assets — was the most-downloaded music video on iTunes. [TMZ]
Tila Tequila: Wanna download me to your hard-drive?
Bet you were picturing Bill Gates or that kid in math class with really thick glasses, huh? Welcome to the new world reality where anyone and everyone with a good idea, a bit of lucky timing and lots of hard work can become the next big internet star.
PC World compiled a list of the Top 50 people making the biggest impact online. They considered hundreds of the Web’s most noteworthy power brokers, bloggers, brainiacs, and entrepreneurs to figure out whose contributions are shaping the way we use the Web.
Daily Dumpling just missed the cut-off at #3,677,891 but moving up the list fast and furious, baby!
at #50…. Tila Tequila - MySpace Personality
If you’re friends with singer/model/actress Tila Tequila (nee Nguyen), you’re hardly alone. Some 1.6 million MySpace users identify themselves similarly. Tequila proved that these MySpace friendships can generate power, fame, and wealth. In fact, she redefined the word “friend” to encompass an individual you’ve never met. Despite what you may think of Ms. Tequila’s talents, she could certainly teach a course in the new Web economy, having channeled her online popularity into A-list (well, C-list) fame. She has posed for Stuff magazine, she has a part in an Adam Sandler film currently in production, and her MySpace page currently boasts more than 56 million page views and 1,734,374 comments.
To check out which other Asians are representin’, head to the list after the jump!
There’s some random statistic floating around cyber-space that says tens of thousands of blah blah blogs are created every day. A dime a dozen really… except for yours truly, of course. So where else are entertainment junkies going to get their latest celebrity scoops? What alternatives do you have when the Dumpling is overcooked or the kitchen is closed? Why to the celebrities themselves!
According to StarCentral, celebrity blogging is the next best thing to the Daily Dumpling (a liberal interpretation of the article but you get the point). It’s “a strange combination of voyeuristic readers and exhibitionistic celebrities” but buyer beware… “by and large, these blogs are marketing ploys geared towards personal gain”. Imagine that. A celebrity using a medium such as the internet to exploit his/ her fans to garner attention beyond that which s/he already receives. The Dumpling is shocked… *yawn*
Well, if you really must go to the source instead of follow what the Daily Dumpling spoon feeds you daily, check out some Asian celebrity blog links that StarCentral put together after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »
