Korean Singer Ok Singing a Different Tune in LA

January 30th, 2007 by dd

Ok Ju hyeon

Singer Ok Ju-hyeon, formerly with all-girl pop group F.I.N.K.L., has fallen in love with the son of a Korean media company owner, it has been revealed. Ok dropped the news on a recent TV show. Identified only by his initial “C,” the man is a Korean-American living in Los Angeles and was born in 1980, the same year as the singer. The two met as friends, but have since been linked romatically since April.

During a recent appearance on a talk show, Ok confessed that she was dating the man, whom she described as a “nice guy” with the matching blood type “A”. The singer later described her boyfriend in more detail, saying that he’s a simple man who “wears blue jeans until they wear out.” Netizens seized on the gossip and online rumors were soon flying about the man’s identity. Asian Stars Show Off Their Flexibility

The rising trend of Asian artistes embracing yoga as a way of life is giving star status to India’s oldest form of holistic science.

From Taiwan’s Elva Hsiao to Hong Kong’s Karen Mok and Singapore’s Tanya Chua, all have trumpeted the healing powers of yoga and its no-fuss workouts.

Some have released books or videos, like Taiwanese singer Tang Na and Korea’s Ok Joo Hyun, of girl band FinKL.

And Hong Kong-born Coco Lee is the face and svelte body behind the ad campaigns for the Pure Yoga chain in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

Others like Korea’s Joo Hyun and Hong Kong’s Almen Wong have gone a step further and opened their own yoga studios.

Some people say that it is ironic how these Asian celebrities took so long to warm up to something that originated from this part of the world but which became popular only after aggressive promotion in the West.

(editor’s note: this picture has nothing to do with yoga but everything to do with coco’s ‘athleticism’)

November 9th, 2006 by dd

Lee HyoLee

Lee Hyo-Lee is set to become the highest paid actress in Korea at an astounding W1.5billion (it’s more impressive if you place your pinky by your mouth and say “bee-lee-on” like Dr. Evil). Either way, this “triple threat” (actress, singer, model) is hitting on all cylinders and is sure to extend her career more into TV and films.
Check out some more pics after the article.
