Bai Ling Shows Off Her True Literary Talents

Steinbeck, Hemingway, Ayn Rand, JD Salinger, and now…. Bai Ling!

Deciding that she’s conquered the world of acting and realizing that attending every red carpet premiere and photo opportunity in the world will not help resolve the Middle East conflict, Bai Ling has decided to re-focus her efforts and work on a book titled, “My Life as a Crazy Movie Star.”

The publisher, HarperCollins, must have thought she had an extensive library of Chinese language films or something. Hello - Movie star!? Don’t you have to be in a lot of movies to be considered a movie celebrity? An episode on “Lost” and “Entourage” and a small role in “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” don’t count.

In any event, Ling says the book will focus on “how I see the world.” Should be fascinating. Book your copy now on Amazon… or not.

To me it’s funny thing that people love to rip Bai Ling for all her public exposure and self-promotion and for being a woman who will admit to enjoying sex.

Whether or not she qualifies as an actual star, she’s got 47 TV and film appearances listed under her name at IMDB. I think she was quite good in Three/Dumplings.

Self promotion is all fine and dandy; that’s the nature of the beast in Hollywood. But when you enter Paris Hilton territory whereby you’re more recognized for your appearances and posturing rather than exercising any true talent than you’re open fodder for snarky remarks and public deragatory comments… that stem from a loving place, of course.

Also one good performance out of 47… that’ll get most people sent to the minors lickety split, wouldn’t ya say.

she’s no Maggie Cheung(there’s someone whose book I would read!)but she seems to have had an interesting life and she can act,but she doesn’t pursue enough substantial roles-I think I’d skip the book.

  4. Joe Says:

I think she can act also. But she not even close to being a movie star. She was in Lost, 3rd Rock from the Sun for a few episode. Has she ever been in a leading role / starts in any movive or major movie? Seems she loves to get attentions even when it’s bad.
