Hong Kong Film Stars Celebrate 10 Year Anniversary of Handover

June 27th, 2007 by dd

Time sure does fly. It’s been almost a full 10 years since the Handover. Remember that quaint little event back in 1997 when Prince Charles and the gang ceremoniously gave the little island of Hong Kong back to China.

Well the Hong Kong film industry certainly does. And in a bid to commemorate that anniversary and come up with another exuse for a party, a gala event celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the Chinese mainland was held in Beijing on Monday.

Zhang Ziyi is a Hong Kong star? I thought she was a mainland star.

Whatever, she’s all class, this lass.

  2. Happy Phantom Says:

Am I the only one that thinks Karen Mok is ugly? I thought Vicki Zhao would vomit before performing that lesbian kiss with her in So Close.

Admittedly, she’s a excellent singer, but what a face. Please, no more photos of Karen Mok!

  3. joe Says:

karen is comical looking, not ugly by any means-are you familiar with jo(cho)eun-ji?she has a really funny face aand puts it to good use in films-sort of like the late gilda radner or imogene coca-by the way if you ever want to see a truly poor performance by zhang ziyi, watch Purple Butterfly-the only actress I’ve seen who has never done a bad performance(even in grade Z films) is Maggie Cheung-she has to be the most versatile actress in the world(but she can’t sing)

  4. oj Says:

Karen is attractive; she’s got character and heart, and isn’t some phony like some superficial “beauties.”
