Yoko Ono Eats Beatles, Not Dogs
June 8th, 2007 by ddIn the “odd but true with a tinge of racism” story of the day, Yoko Ono was reportedly part of a canine-chewing stunt at a London radio station in which gonzo artist Mark McGowan ate cooked pieces of a Corgi, Queen Elizabeth II’s dog of choice. McGowan staged the act to protest the Queen’s husband’s treatment of a fox on a hunt. McGowan went so far as to say that Yoko could only manage a small taste before looking “a bit strange.”
Well, guess what! It was a hoax. How original. Asians eating dog.
Yoko’s reps sent a strongly-worded letter to the Press Association and The Sun, saying, “This allegation is completely untrue and highly defamatory.” The Press Association has already issued an apology and The Sun is expected to follow suit.
Now Yoko will just have to go back to being referred to as “the woman who broke up the Beatles,” rather than “the woman who broke up the Beatles and eats dog.” [TMZ]
