Canadian Actress to Portray Chinese American Author Iris Chang
March 30th, 2007 by ddCanadian actress Olivia Cheng is set to play the lead role in a feature film about American writer Iris Chang in The Iris Chang Story: The Woman who Couldn’t Forget.
The movie started production in China in December and is set for an end of the year release. It marks the 70th anniversary of the eight-week rape and slaughter of hundreds of thousands of people in the ancient capital of Nanjing as Japan battled to conquer China.
Chang documented the horror in her acclaimed bestselling book, The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II, in 1997.
