Sultry Mallika Sherawat Goes from Bollywood to Hollywood
March 13th, 2007 by ddSultry Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat will play the role of a Muslim woman in her second Hollywood film Unveiled to be directed by Bill Bannerman.
Sherawat made her Bollywood debut in 2002 and had a small role in the 2005 Hollywood film The Myth starring Jackie Chan where she played an Indian princess. She has also acted in around 10 Bollywood films.
Unveiled revolves around the life of a Muslim woman who has two husbands and a lover. It will be a blend of film noir, thriller and dark drama.
Mallika will be seen in a highly performance-oriented role. Bannerman says, “Behind the dark burkha, there lies a sexy, manipulative victim, whose life is in grave danger. But she is very dangerous too.”
Malika went through a screen test in Los Angeles before getting the role and managed to beat top Indian actresses like Aishwarya Rai and Shilpa Shetty. “But speculations are rife that Aishwarya Rai had date problems and her impending marriage plans would have been a possible hindrance. As for Shilpa Shetty, she only has a big name. In reality, she still hasn’t signed anything worthwhile so far,” says our source. [TimesofIndia]
