Lisa Ling Courts Danger to Get Inside View on North Korea

I’m like a serious reporter, y’all. The Oscars Red Carpet is totally news worthy!
National Geographic Channel reporter and Oprah Winfrey correspondent/ guest and former View co-host Lisa Ling recently discussed her new special, Explorer: Inside North Korea. The show documents her undercover travels inside the totalitarian state, ruled by mysterious dic tator Kim Jong-il under a cloak of absolute secrecy. Ling was in North Korea with Dr. Sanduk Ruit, an eye surgeon allowed in to perform cataract surgery on 1,000 people (in under 10 days). Ling posed as his medical coordinator.
“They are forbidden from know ing anything about the outside world,” Ling says of the North Koreans, who don’t have cell phones or Internet access. “In America we choose not to know - even though we have access to everything.” When the NYPost mentioned to Ling that she was lucky, since there was a good chance she wouldn’t be recognized in a culture with no access to the outside world, she responded, “there were a couple of Chinese tourists there . . . who actually recognized me. I literally said, ‘No!’ and just ran away. That was the one time I was the most afraid.”
The Dumpling wants to know, which of these facts is hardest to believe?
a) she was in real danger in a country ruled by a midget with a ‘fro
b) some guy did 1,000 eye surgeries in 10 days
c) someone actually recognized Lisa Ling (probably mistook her for Zhang Ziyi)
d) she’s a real reporter… hello? she was on the View with Star Jones!
