Dan, you DA MAN!
So mixed in with all the excitement of Marty winning his first Best Director Oscar (finally!) was his mention of my boy, Dan Lin! I’m completely biased but he was the second person that Marty thanked and has been consistently mentioned throughout the awards season. Who is he?
Dan Lin is the Senior Vice President of Production at Warner Bros. Pictures and works under Jeff Robinov, President of Production. Lin joined the Studio in 1999 as a creative executive and worked on The Departed with Martin Scorsese. He received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and while at business school, he interned for Warner Bros. Pictures before joining the company upon graduation.
The more recognizable faces are in front of the camera decked out and posturing in front of the world press on the red carpet. Time to give a shout out to those who make the projects happen and who ensure the quality is up to par. I’d say being an integral part of a Best Picture Academy Award is proof of a job well done. Keep an eye out for his name. He’ll be the first Asian American running a studio in no time. WOOT WOOT!
